Steeple is restored for new year
A church in Leicestershire which was badly damaged in an earthquake in 2008 has managed to retain its centuries-old tradition of ringing in the new year.
The steeple of St Mary Magdalene Church at Waltham on the Wolds suffered a massive crack after February's quake and had to be completely rebuilt.
But despite fears they would not be ready in time, the bells were able to welcome in 2009.
The village bells only fell silent during WWII.
