Plans to improve a Leicestershire secondary school are to be unveiled to parents and pupils later this month.
About £5m is being spent to upgrade Long Field School in Melton Mowbray, the county council has confirmed.
Some of the proposals include the building of a brand new state-of-the-art sports hall and a new extension dedicated to design and technology.
It is part of £45m reorganisation of education in Melton Mowbray and the Vale of Belvoir.
Long Field School will be changing its age range for pupils from 11-14 to 11-19 from autumn 2009.
Rob Garrett, head teacher at Long Field School, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity for parents, pupils and local people to come along and look at the plans for the school.
"The buildings are designed to help us deliver the best teaching and learning opportunities to all students."
An application for planning permission for the work is due to be submitted in December.
