For dedicated party lovers there is a pleasurable choice, because there are probably more venues in Leicester than ever before, and the list just keeps on growing. The bigger clubs provide a varied programme of events, drawing crowds from all over the Midlands and performers from all over the world. Smaller clubs like The Underground offer the hottest sounds on the contemporary dance scene in intimate and atmospheric surroundings. Many of the clubs have special nights for enthusiasts of different types of music and ‘student nights’ during the week with reduced prices.
In the weekends specially on Friday and Saturday nights the Clock Tower is the hub of the action as crowds stream to the clubs and bars along Church Gate, Silver Street and High Street.
Leicester is a great place for a good night out - there is just so much to choose from. If you like RnB there's Creation near St Margarets bus station, with different rooms for different kinds of music.
Lamplighters is an old school rock venue which has a punk night and occasionally hosts gigs. Then there's Oxygene which has a rock night every Friday, and Mixed Bag which plays everything from Limp Bizkit to Britney. There's also The Fanclub which has an 80s night, indie night and a goth night.
If you're into house music or, as the Dreem Teem say 'anything with a groove', then make sure you go along to Rockstar at Lounge One in Welford Road.
Clubs such as Undecided cater for all those pop divas, and bars such as Jaceys cater for all those skaters in the city. My personal favourites have to be Mars Bar and Club Zeus which cater for my love of RnB and Hip Hop.
